Richard Hemphill, 21, from Drumquin, County Tyrone, has received a scholarship to support him as he completes his BSc (Hons) Agricultural Engineering studies.
Richard, a former pupil of Omagh Academy Grammar School, has been awarded the Lord Stafford Scholarship from Harper Adams University.
He said: “This means a great deal to me as I will be graduating this year so will be applying for jobs. The finance from the scholarship will assist me with attending interviews, so I would like to thank Lord Stafford very much. Thank you also to the Harper Adams University Development Trust.”
Richard, who is a member of the Harper Adams Rubgy Club and Harper Ireland student society, completed his work placement year with Bomford Turner Ltd, working with agricultural vegetation control machinery. His ambition is to work in field testing in the agricultural engineering sector.
